Wilderness

large

Dark stage.
An isolated light.
And this mind
Ballet’s across
That vacant canvas
Under feet.

Smoke Screen.
Doodled conversations
Break into Sweat.
Nervous.

Unsaid Consequences
Scramble
Over each other.
The awning
Trembles against the imposing.

Applause Echo
From a Distance
As Mezzanine
Assemblage and admirers all alike
Willingly suspend belief
And make this odeum
Their own.

You hold charters
To decipher
This dance.
So bound by
Technicalities
Magic escapes you
In the bargain.

Mad. So Mad
This Wilderness.

Hello Strangers.
And then goodbye.
